Shop Santa Fe Inventory Finance Department Impressive First Impressions That Last 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe The Santa Fe has long been noted for appearing more expensive than it really is, and that holds true for used models. Models from various years have featured either an understated design or a bold, more modern appearance. Look at the way the body curves and bulks up, and it doesn't look out of place next to many of its more expensive rivals. You could easily see one parked in front of a downtown coffee shop or in the parking lot of a local middle school. When you think of a used SUV that still feels relatively modern, you're probably thinking of the Santa Fe. Room and Comfort for the Entire Crew 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe The minute you sit down, you can tell Hyundai put a lot of effort into comfort. The cabin feels open without being too large, and the seats are firm yet forgiving on long drives. Depending on the trim level and year, the vehicle may have a third row of seats for larger families or carpool situations. Cargo space is plentiful, whether you're throwing groceries in the back, taking a weekend trip, or loading the vehicle with sports equipment for a trunk full of fun. The interior, even on high-mileage secondhand models, has generally stood the test of time, which speaks volumes about the way these vehicles were built. Driving Feel and Everyday Reliability 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe On the road, the Santa Fe is pleasant to drive, neither too sluggish nor too stiff. It handles the daily commute with ease and has enough power to help with highway merging and passing on two-lane roads. Fuel economy is reasonable for the SUV class, particularly with the four-cylinder engines found in many used models, but reliability is the real selling point. Hyundai has long been known for standing behind its products, and the Santa Fe is a dependable option that doesn't leave you wondering what might go wrong tomorrow. Tech and Safety Features Worth Mentioning 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe Depending on the year and trim, you'll find many modern conveniences at an affordable price on a used Santa Fe, including a touchscreen infotainment system, smartphone integration, and a decent variety of driver-assistance features, even on relatively older models. Hyundai has placed a strong emphasis on safety throughout its lineup, and the Santa Fe has frequently performed above average in crash testing, making it a favorable choice for families. Finance Department Shop Used Inventory Let's be honest: walking onto a car lot can feel a little intimidating. While you're trying to get a good deal, you don't want to come off as a jerk or pushy. At United Auto Sales of Utica, we talk to buyers every single day who have this exact worry, so we put together this guide to help you feel confident and prepared before you ever sit down at the negotiating table. Remember that negotiation is a dialogue, not an opportunity to "win" against a salesperson. Once you know a few basic things, you'll see that most of the process is just a matter of knowing your stuff and asking good questions. Do Your Homework Before You Walk In The single biggest advantage you can have when learning how to negotiate a used car price is preparation. You need to do your homework before even stepping foot on the lot, so learn a bit about the make, model, and year you want. You can also check for similar listings such as used cars Yorkville NY and that should give you a good idea of the price of similar vehicles. Always check the vehicle history report, if available. Mileage and the amount of time a car has been on the lot are also important. Haggle more if the dealer has had the car a couple of months (or more) rather than if they just got the car in. Figuring Out How Much to Offer on a Used Car This is the question everyone asks, and honestly, there's no single magic number. How much to offer on a used car depends on a couple of factors working together: Car's condition, mileage and maintenance history Lower than prices of comparable cars in the area Whether there are dealership incentives or end of month targets to reach A rule of thumb for offers is to start just below your target number. This will allow room for you to negotiate. Don't go so low that the other side is offended and won't even consider moving in your direction. But a respectable offer backed up with real research is likely to be taken far more seriously than a number pulled out of thin air. Let the Numbers Do the Talking When you are ready to make an offer, have all your facts lined up. Mention if you found a similar car listed elsewhere with a lower price. Simply put, dealerships like it when you know what you're talking about, and it makes the process easier, quicker and less emotional for all parties involved. You're not talking about feelings anymore. It can also help to separate the conversations and discuss the price of the car on its own. Once that's done, you can talk about trade in value and financing separately. An all-in-one number can mask a good or bad value for either of those items. Know When to Pause Sometimes the best negotiating tool you have is simply time. If the number is getting close, but you really need more, politely ask for time to consider it. Even a couple of minutes outside to collect yourself may give both you and the sellers a chance to re-evaluate, and salespeople know this, so you may be better off taking a break. We're Here to Make It Easy At the end of the day, we want you to drive away happy, not just today, but for years down the road. Our team would rather have an honest conversation about pricing than play games, because a customer who feels good about their purchase is a customer who comes back and tells their friends. Frequently Asked Questions Is It Rude to Haggle On a Used Car? Absolutely not! Negotiating is considered part of the used car purchase, and dealerships plan for a range in price and are generally open to negotiation. Should I Get Pre-Approved for Financing Before Negotiating? It can help. If you know your financing terms beforehand, you can better determine your budget, and price negotiations are no longer related to financing. Alternatively, if the dealer refuses the price, ask if that can be made up for in other areas, such as extended warranty, a better maintenance package, or a higher trade in value. If all else fails, it is perfectly acceptable to walk out and return. Do I Need a Trade-In to Negotiate? No. Many buyers use cash or outside financing with no trade in at all, so a trade is just another variable to consider. If you've been shopping around and wondering, can you lease a used car, you're definitely not alone. Most people assume leasing only applies to shiny new vehicles fresh off the truck, but that's not the whole story. At United Auto Sales of Utica, we get this question all the time from folks who love the lower monthly payments that come with leasing but don't necessarily want to pay new car prices. So let's break it down in plain language and talk about what your options actually look like. Finance Department Shop Used Inventory Yes, Used Car Leasing Is a Real Thing The short answer to the question, "Can you lease a used car?" is yes. Used car leases do exist, however, it is not as common as new car leases. Some dealers and banks offer lease programs for used cars, usually only a few years old with low mileage. Used car leases work in essentially the same way as new car leases: the driver pays a fixed monthly sum for a fixed number of months and then, at the end of the lease, has the option of returning, buying, or re-leasing the vehicle. Used cars can vary and not every vehicle is eligible, nor is every dealer going to offer this, so it's worth asking if it's something you're considering. KEY REASONS FOR LEASING RATHER THAN PURCHASING Consumers may prefer leasing a used vehicle for various reasons, despite the car being pre-owned, used, or secondhand Lower monthly payments, compared to financing the same vehicle Can require less upfront cash in many cases The borrower has an option to walk away or upgrade Leasing isn't always the best option, though. For example, if you drive a lot of miles in a year or one day want to own the car outright and not have car payments, you may want to consider financing instead. It really comes down to how you plan to use the car and how long you want to keep it. Leasing Versus Financing a Used Vehicle Think of these two ideas as two roads that lead to different destinations. Financing means you're working toward ownership. In a purchase, you build equity with every payment and own the car once the loan is paid off. Leasing is more like a long-term rental. Advantages are that you get all the use of the vehicle without the long-term commitment but do not build equity. Our finance center can explain both options to you side by side, so there aren't any guesses. In some cases, the monthly difference between the two might be smaller than you think, while in other cases it will be a larger difference. Either way, once you see the numbers it is a lot easier to make the decision. What to Ask Before You Sign Anything Before you sign a used car lease, make sure you ask how the leasing company calculates the mileage, and what happens if you exceed the mileage allowance during the lease. Can I purchase the vehicle at the end of the lease? And what will the price be? What are the end-of-lease condition requirements of the car? The terms of these vary quite a bit from lease to lease, so don't be shy about asking for details. We're Here to Walk You Through It Every driver is different, and that's why we at United Auto Sales of Utica prefer to explain all the details in person. Whether you're comparing the terms and conditions of a lease or weighing your options between leasing and financing, our finance team is happy to lay out your options clearly. Frequently Asked Questions Can You Lease a Used Car With Bad Credit? Maybe, but this depends on the specific lender and program. In some cases, a lease program may provide you with more flexibility compared to traditional financing options, so we encourage you to talk to our finance center team. Is Leasing a Used Car Cheaper Than Financing? While leasing a car is often cheaper monthly than financing it, you won't build equity in the vehicle. Ultimately, it depends on what you can afford and how long you're going to keep the car. Do Used Car Leases Have Mileage Limits? Most leases have a maximum number of miles allowed during the lease term, and you may face a penalty if you exceed this limit. Always confirm the specific mileage allowance before signing. Where Can I Find Used Car Lease Options Around Yorkville NY? Our lot serves drivers throughout the Yorkville NY area, and our team can walk you through which vehicles currently qualify for lease programs as well as traditional financing options. There’s nothing better than a beautiful summer day on the golf course with great people—and this year’s Steet Ponte Auto Group Annual Golf Tournament delivered all of that and more! This year, our annual tournament was held at Holland Heights Golf Course in Herkimer, NY in August, bringing together team members and friends from across the Steet Ponte Auto Group for a day of golf, food, prizes and plenty of fun. We were proud to have representation from all of our Steet Ponte stores, along with several of the businesses we’re fortunate to work with throughout the year, including New Hartford Window Cleaning and Zeibart. It was a great opportunity to step away from the dealerships, enjoy some friendly competition and spend time together outside of the office. A huge thank-you goes to Barb Mazzotta of Steet Ponte Mazda, who coordinated this year’s tournament and put together an incredible day for everyone who attended. From the moment golfers hit the course, there was something to look forward to! Golfers were treated to hot dogs and hamburgers at the turn, a drink tent to keep everyone refreshed throughout the day, and tons of prizes provided by our manufacturers and Steet Ponte stores. In fact, everyone went home with something! And, of course, the day wasn’t complete without a great meal. After finishing up on the course, everyone gathered for dinner at Holland Heights, giving us the perfect opportunity to relax, share some laughs and wrap up an unforgettable day. We couldn’t have asked for better weather or a better group of people to spend the day with. Events like this are a great reminder of what makes the Steet Ponte Auto Group special—not only the dealerships and brands we represent, but the people who make up our team and the business relationships we’ve built throughout our community. We also want to give a special shoutout to Valerie Rinaldi of Steet Ponte Ford Lincoln for helping make this event such a success! Thank you to Barb, Valerie, our participating stores, our business partners, our manufacturers and everyone who came out to golf with us. We’re already looking forward to next year! Until then, we’ll see you on the course! ⛳

A shaking or vibrating vehicle is one of those symptoms that is easy to dismiss at first and difficult to ignore once it progresses. Whether it starts as a subtle tremor at highway speeds or a noticeable shudder the moment you turn the key, your car is communicating that something needs attention. Understanding the most common causes behind car shaking while driving can help you prioritize the right repair before a manageable issue becomes a costly one. Here is a breakdown of what is likely happening and what to do about it. Schedule a Service Today Contact Us Why Is My Car Shaking When I Turn It On? If the shaking starts at startup and settles down after the engine warms up, the issue is often isolated to the engine itself rather than anything in the drivetrain or suspension. Why is my car shaking when I turn it on is one of the more common service questions, and the answers typically point to one of several areas. Worn or fouled spark plugs are a frequent culprit. When spark plugs are past their service interval or contaminated, the combustion cycle fires unevenly across cylinders, creating a rough idle that often feels like a shake or vibration throughout the cabin. Replacing spark plugs is a straightforward and relatively inexpensive repair that resolves this issue in most cases. Dirty fuel injectors can produce a similar symptom. When fuel delivery to individual cylinders is inconsistent, the engine struggles to maintain a smooth idle, particularly when cold. A fuel system cleaning service addresses this directly. A failing motor mount is another possibility. Motor mounts isolate engine vibration from the rest of the vehicle. When one or more mounts wear out or crack, engine movement transfers into the frame and cabin in ways that are immediately noticeable at startup and at idle. Car Shaking While Driving: Speed-Related Vibration When the shaking appears at a specific speed range and diminishes above or below that threshold, the cause is almost always connected to rotating components. Tires are the first place a qualified technician will look. Tires that are out of balance create a harmonic vibration that intensifies at certain speeds and can be felt through the steering wheel, the floor, or both depending on which axle is affected. Tire balance is a quick and inexpensive correction, but if left unaddressed, the vibration it produces accelerates wear on suspension components and wheel bearings, turning a simple fix into a more involved repair over time. Wheel alignment is another common contributor to speed-related shaking. Misaligned wheels create uneven tire wear patterns and cause the vehicle to track inconsistently. Beyond the shaking itself, poor wheel alignment reduces fuel efficiency and puts unnecessary stress on steering components. If your vehicle also pulls to one side or your tires are wearing unevenly across the tread, alignment is likely part of the issue. Bent or damaged wheels are worth inspecting as well, particularly if the vibration appeared after hitting a significant pothole or curb. Even minor wheel damage can create an imbalance significant enough to produce noticeable shaking at driving speeds. Car Shakes When Accelerating: Drivetrain and Axle Issues If your car shakes when accelerating specifically under load rather than at a steady cruising speed, the diagnostic focus shifts toward the drivetrain. CV axles and CV joints are common sources of vibration during acceleration, particularly in front-wheel-drive vehicles. A damaged CV joint often produces a clicking noise during turns in addition to the shaking, which makes it easier to identify before the joint fails completely. Worn driveshaft components on rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive vehicles produce a similar symptom under acceleration. The driveshaft needs to be balanced and free of damage to transmit power smoothly from the transmission to the wheels. When it is not, the resulting vibration is often felt most intensely in the floorboard and seat rather than the steering wheel. Why Is My Car Shaking When I Drive: When to Stop Driving Knowing why is my car shaking when I drive is useful, but knowing when to stop driving is equally important. If the shaking is sudden, severe, or accompanied by a warning light, pulling over and having the vehicle inspected before continuing is the right call. Vibration caused by a failing wheel bearing or a separated tire can escalate to a dangerous situation quickly. For drivers in the Yorkville, Utica, Herkimer, and New Hartford, NY area, United Auto Sales of Utica's service center is staffed with ASE certified technicians equipped to diagnose and resolve the full range of causes behind vehicle shaking. Scheduling an inspection early is always less expensive than addressing the downstream damage that deferred maintenance leaves behind.

When you need a vehicle that can handle slick winter roads and regular grocery hauls, it's a great idea to explore the used SUV market. United Auto Sales of Utica specializes in offering affordable and dependable used cars under 15K that you can drive away in today. Every vehicle we sell has been through a detailed multi-point inspection to check its roadworthiness. Here's what to look for when shopping for cars under 15000 so you can find the perfect model for your family's needs. Pre-Owned Inventory Under 15,000 Contact Us Why Choose a Sub-$15,000 Used SUV? A budget of fifteen thousand dollars is an excellent entry point into the highly competitive used SUV market. Vehicles in this price range offer affordable monthly payments and real-world usability. They're great choices for growing families or even for a college student who needs a set of wheels. Choosing an SUV over a regular car gives you a much higher seating position, which improves your visibility on a busy highway. You also get some extra ground clearance, in case you have to get across one of our infamous snowdrifts during Central New York's winters. When you search for cars under 15000, you also avoid the steep initial depreciation that hits every brand-new vehicle the moment it's driven off the dealer lot. Buying a used SUV lets you get more premium features, like heated seats and all-wheel drive, for a fraction of the cost of a new model. Popular SUV Sizes and Styles in This Budget Range If you're searching for a "used SUV near me under 15000," you'll find several different vehicle sizes available. Each segment of the SUV market serves a different purpose, so matching the vehicle size to your daily routine is important. Compact Crossovers: These models are extremely popular because they offer fuel economy similar to a standard sedan. They're easy to park in tight spaces or a smaller garage, and provide enough cargo room for some luggage or sports gear. Mid-Size SUVs: If you need extra legroom for growing teenagers and weekend road trips, a mid-size SUV gives you a wider cabin layout than a compact. These vehicles also offer a bit of towing capability. You can use many of them to pull a light utility trailer or a couple of jet skis. Three-Row SUVs: It's less common to find these larger SUVs for under $15K, but there are occasionally some options. You can still find well-maintained, slightly older three-row options that can hold up to seven or eight passengers. These vehicles are ideal for larger families. Cars Under 20000 vs. Under 15000 You might also want to look at cars under the $20K range to expand your options. Knowing what changes as the price shifts can help you figure out where your money is best spent. Vehicles closer to the twenty thousand dollar mark will usually have lower odometer readings and newer model years. However, a thoroughly inspected vehicle under fifteen thousand dollars can still deliver the exact same level of reliability. It depends on whether it has a solid history of routine maintenance. A vehicle that's been well-cared-for with regular oil changes and a clean history can still give you many years of reliability without having to worry about a major repair bill. Benefits of Shopping at United Auto Sales of Utica Finding an affordable used SUV doesn't mean you have to sacrifice reliability or safety. United Auto Sales of Utica eliminates the risk of budget shopping by preparing every single vehicle before we offer it for sale. Rigorous multi-point safety inspections: Our certified service technicians work on-site. They inspect the engine, brakes, transmission, and other components of every used SUV to ensure it meets strict quality standards. Complimentary history transparency: We'll provide you with a comprehensive vehicle history report on any model you're interested in. This lets you verify the past maintenance records and title ownership details. Expert physical reconditioning: Very few vehicles are in "tip-top" shape when they're used as a trade-in. That's perfectly normal. Our professional detailing and body shop teams meticulously clean and refresh every vehicle inside and out. Your used SUV might not have that "new car smell," but it will still look and feel excellent. Full-service support: Buying from us connects you to our advanced repair facility and collision center. Our team can handle all your routine maintenance needs for years to come. Budget-Friendly SUVs in Yorkville Come visit our team at United Auto Sales of Utica today. We look forward to continuing to serve drivers throughout Utica, Rome, New Hartford, Herkimer, Ilion, Little Falls, Johnstown, Gloversville, Amsterdam, Oneida, and communities across the Mohawk Valley for many years to come. See Why Our Customers Always Say... "It's so easy to do business with the Steet Ponte Auto Group!"
